Creating art has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and there has never been a time when I was not making some form of art.
To me, the creative process is a constant experience of letting go, discovery, mystery, and of play that is waiting there for anyone willing to engage. Art-making involves a continuous spiral-like dance between unravelling and reforming. My art work evolves as I evolve and reflects the experiences of my life during the time it was created.
I often feel that the art I create is ahead of my conscious experience and leads me in directions I need to experience in order to grow, both as an artist and as a person. Right now, my art involves a process of creating textured surfaces, stitching found objects, dyeing and stitching paper, layering paint, and discovering imagery in the textures and surfaces I create.
Art-making connects me to an experience that is greater than myself.
